Sinopsis

¿Qué harías si un día descubres que una doble idéntica a ti, y cuya presencia a nadie parece extrañar, ha ocupado tu lugar? Si todas tus obligaciones, todos tus deberes, están cubiertos por esa otra persona, ¿tratarías de luchar por tu identidad perdida o por lo contrario intentarías buscar tu propia identidad ajena a todo lo que suponía tu vida ‘normal’? Y en ese caso, ¿te llevaría esta decisión a encontrar la felicidad?

Ana es una joven formal, educada en una familia de clase media tradicional. Está a punto de terminar su doctorado en derecho, entrar a formar parte de una empresa y casarse, pero no se siente realizada. Un día, descubre que una doble idéntica a ella ha ocupado su lugar. Dándose cuenta de que por primera vez es totalmente libre, Ana decide explorar su nuevo anonimato y libertad, probando sus límites y buscando el sentido de su propia existencia, entre las noches madrileñas de cabaret y la pensión donde se alojará, repletas de personajes que de algún modo un día también decidieron desaparecer. Sin embargo, la rutina llegará a su nueva vida y una pregunta le atormentará: ¿es posible huir de uno mismo?

Synopsis 

What would you do if one day you realize that a double, a doppelganger, similar to you has taken your place in life and nobody even suspects that she is not you? If all your obligations, all your duties, are being made by that ‘other you’, would you fight to recover your lost identity? Or, on the contrary, would you try to find your own being far from all that was supposed to be your ‘normal’ life? And, in that case, will this option help you to find real happiness?

Ana is a young, well-educated Spanish woman from a traditional, middle-class family. She is about to finish her PhD in Law and get married but she doesn't feel fulfilled. One day, a double (doppelganger) takes her place in life, dealing with all her responsibilities. Realizing for the first time that she is totally free, Ana decides to explore her new anonymity and freedom, testing her own limits and searching for the meaning of life, between a boarding-house and cabaret nights in Madrid: places full of people who, in some way, one day also decided to disappear. However, at one point routine also arrives to her new life and a question haunts her: Is it possible to ever run away from oneself?
